Stay magical & don’t forget to dream.

As a child, I dreamed of writing books.

That dream came true in 2012. Working with friends from my graduate school networks and Detroit community activists, I became co-editor of Reading African American Experiences in the Obama Era with Shanesha R.F. Brooks-Tatum.

Seven years later, in 2019, I published The Dark Fantastic.

In 2022, I co-edited Harry Potter and the Other with Sarah Park Dahlen.

I am hard at work on my first fantasy novel for young adults, as well as other projects inside and outside academia. Stay tuned!
